Where I am presently living in my Dreamcatchermobile (photo) http://darinselby.1hwy.com in the Santa Barbara area is coming to a close. My friends have graciously allowed me to stay here a few months to build and launch my latest pedal/chariot design.
So, I am looking for a back yard to temporarily keep my two chariots and some totes. In exchange, to volunteer my time and expertise to build any one of these four concepts that I mention here.

Four things that I offer to make happen for whomever is interested, and shares my passion with alternative energy and transportation. Constructing any one of these projects is a mind-blowing example of state-of-the-art simplicity. Also, it represents a highly efficient means to first compress and store air…then use it in a compressed air-assist balancing chariot, which allows the runner/driver to pull around effortlessly up to 1000 pounds of people or cargo. TOYPUNK MADNESS

URBAN VINYL has been a phenomenon in Japan and around the world for more than 10 years. Drawing inspiration from the world of "lowbrow art," Urban vinyl manufacturers are producing scores of new toys monthly primarily for adult collectors. Toypunks is a documentary series about the intersection of Japanese toys, fashion and punk rock. The film introduces Hikaru Iwanaga of Bounty Hunter, creator of the first designer toy, as well as other vital players in the Japanese streetwear and international designer toy scenes (including interviews with graphic designer Frank Kozik) , and explores their roots in punk and American pop culture. Via location shooting in Japan and the US, Toypunks explores a profound cross-cultural exchange between American and Japanese pop culture. After the film we'll use clay and space age plastics to build our own scary creatures and set them against each other in a classic "big battel". Bamboo Madness in the Desert

This will definitely be a very cool night. The building of Gerard's Coachella Bamboo Sculpture with the help of many Fishbon operatives was an amazing saga and we're going to tell it on Wednesday night. We'll have lots of photos of the many iterations as the project had to be redesigned on the fly to cope with the actual conditions in Indio, material snafus and much more. It was an epic experience for all concerned, so don't miss this one.

Dr. Megavolt, Tesla Coils and Firebird

On Wednesday. September 19th, Fishbon Event Lab operatives were visited by Austin in his Dr. Megavolt persona for a special presentation that included a glimpse into the creation of the massive 8' Tesla Coil that has been an important feature of the Burning Man Festival over the past nine years. In addition to early photos, napkin drawings and science fiction graphics that inspired the performance events, Dr. Megavolt performed live at the Fishbon Pescadrome with a smaller version of the large coil in his one-of-a-kind protective metal suit. Earlier in the evening, J Kahn showed his Santa Barbara produced theatrical short Firebird which featured Fishbon Fire Arts Cell goddess, Rachel in a dreamy sequence.

On Wednesday, May 30th, undercover Fishbon Event Lab operatives gathered for a special briefing by BBQ, Labyrinth and Theory officer Nathan on the subject of his recent thesis Reason and Imagination. The evening included an interactive lecture and lively question and answer session about the relationship of imagination to narrative and perceived reality.

Fashion and World's Strongest Men

On Wednesday, June 6, Fishbon Event Lab stalwarts gathered in the Pescadrome to witness a typical Event Lab matchup, Ulrike's Fashion Trend Update and Alan and Clay's recent adventure with Strongmen pulling Trucks, lifing 300 lb. concrete balls, 900 lb. tractor tires and other assorted heavy objects without protest. Was this some kind of Battle of the Archetypes? Nope, just another fun-filled night in Santa Barbara. After Ulrike outlined the top 5 current trends, Alan explained his foray into Hollywood reality programming. Strongmen contestants were wired with electrodes to measuring equipment to track how and when their muscle groups responded to extreme strength tests. The results were plotted against time.

The Empowerment is pleased to announce the beta release of a new day of the week. Haven't we all wished there was an eighth 24 hour period to do all the cool things we've been saying we'll do "one of these days?" "That day" has arrived. Here it is, on a recurring weekly basis.

How is this possible? Well try as we might to burn candles at both ends or cheat sleep, there simply aren't any new hours to be had, but there are quite a lot hours sitting in the unemployment lines or working at jobs they hate to buy sh- Well you get the idea. So rather than conjure our own day out of whole cloth, we're doing what Christmas and Haloween did, hijack other peoples' days!

The day formerly known as Sunday now comes in a new flavor called Hack Sabbath! Christians and slackers have always observed Sunday as a special time for going to church or sleeping all day waiting for the alarm to command them back to work. Now switched-on folks have another reason to look forward to it.

Hack Sabbath is a gathering of creative people where you can do your own thing and hang out or collaborate with bright minds doing exciting things.

Everyone Can Hack: Hacking is about more than computers. Hacking means doing clever things in any arena from art to zeitgeist.
